Alexander. A soldier of the OUN – (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists)
I was raised in an intelligent family. My parents were academics who thought me to help and respect people. My grandfathers were soldiers in the world war II and they told me about the horrors of war and hoped I would never experience it in my life.
Before the war I worked as a psychotherapist at a rehab center for drug addicts and alcoholics. I had good economy, respect and I was also a candidate for the municipal elections.
Can you imagine a man knocking at your door, telling you it´s his apartment, that you cannot live there anymore? He is pointing at you, telling you what to do and not to do.
It´s a normal reaction to protect your country, home and family. My soul demands me to do this so it can find peace. As I psychotherapist I have always helped people, this time I need to help my country.
I have come here to the frontline to protect the motherland and do everything that’s needed. Everybody at this platoon do this, we are all volunteers and we work for free. Now I have been fighting for one and a half year.
Western Ukrainians wants to live by the rules and ideas they have in their hearts. A national idea. Every Ukrainian would say with pride – I´m Ukrainian and I´ll do everything to get this country and the people free – all of us want to live in a free country.
I have a daughter; she is 15 years old. I want her to proudly be able to say, I´m Ukrainian and my father helped this country to be free and independent. No one can not want to fight for their freedom. Volunteers, doctors, the health care, no one can say – I don’t bother, because in my city there is no enemies.
Everybody needs to help Ukraine to be independent. Love your country and help the people.
